PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking-type tiller in which wheels can be made to approach tilling claws in the machine body movement and the wheels can be separated from an operating handle in the tilling work.SOLUTION: A walking-type tiller 1 includes: a tilling rotary 10 comprising a number of tilling claws 11 wheels 70 grounded in the movement a resistance bar 60 inserted in soil in the tilling work a rotating shaft 40 for supporting the wheels 70 and the resistance bar 60 a machine body frame 2 for supporting the tilling rotary 10 an operation handle 25 disposed from the machine body frame 2 toward the back obliquely upward in the machine body fore-and-aft direction and a holding pipe 30 disposed at the rear end of the machine body frame 2, and holding the rotating shaft 40. In the grounded state of the wheels 70, the front ends of the wheels 70 are positioned at the front side from the holding pipe 30 in the machine body fore-and-aft direction in machine body side view.
