PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a W/O/W type double emulsion having excellent temporal stability and excellent in moisture retention and use feeling.SOLUTION: There is provided a W/O/W type double emulsion which includes in the outer aqueous phase a lamellar type liquid crystal comprising a surfactant, an aliphatic alcohol and water, and whose inner aqueous phase content is ≥1 mass% based on the whole amount of emulsion. The W/O/W type double emulsion is preferably prepared by mixing the W/O type emulsion prepared in the first emulsification into a lamellar type liquid crystal comprising a surfactant used for secondary emulsification, an aliphatic alcohol and water to disperse and emulsify them with the outer aqueous phase ingredient.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】経時安定性が高く、保湿性および使用感触に優れるW/O/W型複合エマルションを提供する。【解決手段】外水相に、界面活性剤、脂肪族アルコールおよび水を含有してなるラメラ型液晶を含み、内水相の含有量が、エマルションの全量に対して1質量%以上である、W/O/W型複合エマルションとする。本発明のW/O/W型複合エマルションは、1次乳化により調製したW/O型エマルションを、2次乳化に用いる界面活性剤、脂肪族アルコールおよび水を含有してなるラメラ型液晶中に混合し、外水相成分により分散、乳化することにより、好ましく調製される。【選択図】図4
