PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for the treatment of diseases treatable by the regeneration of nerve such as Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons disease and blindness.
SOLUTION: The nerve regeneration agent contains one or more substances selected from polypeptides belonging to a family having thioredoxin activity. The polypeptide belonging to the family having thioredoxin activity is widely extended from oligopeptides to polypeptides (protein) provided that the substance has thioredoxin activity. Especially preferable polypeptides are human thioredoxin and yeast thioredoxin.
