This invention relates to a system and method for providing treatment to a portion of the body. The system and method uses an elastic band to hold the pack with respect to the injured area on the body. The system and method is particularly effective for supporting the pack that requires access to the environment in order to maintain the chemical reaction in the pack. The system comprises an elastic band including a pack and the opening of a gas-permeable portion. Pack, the gas permeability of the pack is fixed to the elastic band so as to be exposed through an opening in the elastic band. The elastic band is without a gas-permeable cover of the pack provides a support for the pack.
