A detection device of fishing into water and a method thereof are provided. The device comprises a waterproof housing, a circuit board, a capacitive sensing module and a control unit. The capacitive sensing module and the control unit are disposed on the circuit board. The capacitive sensing module is adjacent to the inner wall surface of the waterproof housing to sense a capacitance value. The control unit receives the capacitance value and generates a control signal when the control unit determines that the device enters the water according to the capacitance value, to activate the device to be controlled.本發明係揭露一種漁具入水檢測裝置及方法。該裝置包含防水殼體、電路板、電容感應模組及控制單元。電容感應模組及控制單元設置於電路板上。電容感應模組鄰近防水殼體的內壁面以感應電容值。控制單元接收電容值，並根據電容值判斷裝置入水時產生一控制訊號，以使待控制裝置作動。
