The sheath used to protect the medical device has one or more strips formed on a portion thereof. A medical device is a scaffold that is crimped to a balloon and attached to a catheter. The sheath is a two piece including a protective sheath portion and a constraining sheath portion. The strip facilitates removal of the constraining sheath from the scaffold so as to reduce the chance of damage caused by inappropriate removal of the sheath from the medical device.
