Discloses use of activated T cells and a PD-1 antagonist in the manufacture of a medicament for inducing an immune response to a tumor antigen of interest. Discloses wherein the tumor is a solid tumor other than colon cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, renal cell carcinoma and melanoma. Further discloses wherein the tumor antigen is is one or more of: carcinoembryonic antigen, prostate-specific antigen, fibroblast growth factor 5, Wilms tumor 1 (WT1), melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE), melanoma-associated antigen recognized by T cells (MART), tyrosinase, preferentially expressed antigen of melanoma (PRAME), glycoprotein 100 (GP100), survivin, proteinase 3, elastase, cathepsin G and New York esophageous 1 (NY-Eso 1).
