The present invention relates to system and a method of high intensityinterval training with far infrared heat. The method includes: exposing aparticipant to a source of far infrared energy, the source is positioned at acertain proximity to the participant sufficient to increase the bodytemperature of the participant without increasing the temperature of thesurround air; positioning at least one athletic bag within striking distanceofthe participant to enable the participant to strike the at least one athleticbag; providing at least one resistance element to enable the participant touse the at least one resistance element to build strength; and directing theparticipant to alternate between striking the at least one athletic bag for alength of time and using the at least one resistance element for anotherlength of time while exposed to the source of far infrared energy.
