The purpose of this invention is to inspect for a method of lowering the skin irritation (particularly, the accumulated skin irritation) when making the percutaneous administration of local anesthetic by iontophoresis, and thereby to provide an electrode pad, which can be safely used not only in single administration but also in repeated administrations of local anesthetic, in relation to lowering the prickling pain at injecting. The electrode pad for iontophoresis according to the present invention comprises a base sheet 1, an electrode 3 placed on the base sheet 1, adhesive sheet 2 having an opening and placed on the base sheet 1 with the electrode 3 exposed in the opening, and a medication reservoir 4 containing local anesthetic and placed in the opening and in contact with the electrode 3. Avoiding the inner circumferential wall of the opening of the adhesive sheet 2 and the outer circumferential wall of the medication reservoir 4 from contacting with the human skin in a condition wherein the walls are contacting with each other, and thereby lowering the skin irritation.
