Embodiments of a breast pump kit (1300) are disclosed herein. The breast pump kit (1300) can include one or more of a breast pump shield (100), (1304) and a breast pump milk bag (132), (1308). According to various embodiments, the breast pump shield (100), (1304) can include a body portion (102) that has a breast engagement portion (112) that can receive at least a portion of a breast of a user. The breast pump shield (100), (1304) also can include a suction chamber (120) located in proximity to the breast engagement portion (112). Milk can pass into the suction chamber (120) and into the breast pump milk bag (132), (1308). A one-way valve (1306) can prevent reverse flow of fluids from the breast pump milk bag (132), (1308) into the breast pump shield (100), (1304). The breast pump kit (1300) also can include a cover (106), (1302) that can seal the breast pump shield (100), (1304), if desired.
