PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nurse call system where the number of nurse call slave units to be simultaneously called is not restricted by the number of speech lines.SOLUTION: A nurse call system includes: nurse call slave units 1 nurse call master units 3 and a control unit 4 for controlling calls and speeches between the nurse call slave units 1 and the nurse call master units 3. The system also includes: multiple nurse call master units 3 to be controlled by the same control unit 4 and multiple speech lines between the nurse call slave units 1 and the nurse call master units 3. When a call operation by the nurse call slave unit 1 is received and the nurse call master unit 3 performs a response operation, a control unit CPU 45 secures one line among the speech lines so as to form a speech channel between the nurse call slave unit 1 and the nurse call master unit 3. In a case where there is no free speech line when a call operation is performed in the nurse call slave unit 1, the transmission of a call signal is held so as to wait for a free speech line by transmitting a notification lamp lighting signal.
