A system and method for sending a death notice comprising: creating the notice on a mourner app running on a computing device； retrieving, by a retrieval app running on deceased contact storage device, contacts stored in the deceased contact storage and transferring retrieved contacts to the mourner app； sending by the mourner app of the notice to at least one of the retrieved contacts.
