PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing, which is capable of suitably transmitting a driving force from an input shaft of a speed reduction mechanism to an output shaft thereof, and which can endure a shock and a high load accompanying a gear shift. SOLUTION: The speed reduction mechanism 20 is provided in a drive system from an electric motor M to a spool 5 and includes a planetary gear mechanism 200 and a mechanical transmission 210. The mechanical transmission 210 is provided on the input shaft 212 to which the driving force from the planetary gear mechanism 200 is input, the output shaft 214 arranged coaxially with the input shaft 212, and the output shaft 214. A cylindrical portion 216 that covers the shaft end portion 212b from the outer peripheral side, and is arranged between the outer peripheral surface of the shaft end portion 212b of the input shaft 212 and the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion 216, and outputs the rotation of the input shaft 212 in one direction.
