PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably capture an image of an eyeground in both forward/rearward directions for switching viewing angle.SOLUTION: An eyeground imaging apparatus includes imaging optical systems 100, 200 which scan light from light sources 102, 211 by scanning units 134, 216, illuminate the eyeground of a subject eye E via objective optical systems 320, 330, and image the eyeground of the subject eye E on the basis of return light from the subject eye. The objective optical systems 320, 330 are switched to allow the viewing angle in the imaging optical systems 100, 200 to be switched between a first viewing angle and a second viewing angle greater than the first viewing angle. The eyeground imaging apparatus further includes a control unit 70 that switches an imaging mode between a first mode for imaging the eyeground at the first viewing angle and a second mode for imaging the eyeground at the second viewing angle.
