The present disclosure relates to a cap assembly (5) for a medicament delivery device (1). The cap assembly (5) comprises a cap body (7) arranged to be connected to a medicament delivery device (1) for protecting and for removing a medicament delivery member shield (15), which cap body (7) has an inner cap structure (7a) defining a channel (7b) extending along the central axis of the cap body (7), and a gripping member (9) configured to be received in the channel (7a) with a friction fit and to receive a medicament delivery member shield (15). The gripping member (9) has a first leg (9a), a second leg (9b), and an transverse portion (9c) extending between the first leg (9a) and the second leg (9b), which transverse portion (9c) defines the leading edge of the gripping member (9) when received by the channel (7b), each of the first leg (9a) and the second leg (9b) having a respective proximal portion (9d) extending distally from the transverse portion (9c) and extending parallel to each other, the first leg (9a) and the second leg (9b) also having a respective distal portion (9e), the distal portions (9e) being radially flexible and extending away from each other to allow the gripping member (9) to receive a medicament delivery member shield (15) between the distal portions (9e), each distal portion (9e) being provided with a medicament delivery member shield gripper (9f) configured to engage with a medicament delivery member shield (15) when the gripping member (9) is pushed into the channel (7b) and the distal portions (9e) flex radially inwards.
