PROCEDURE TO PROMOTE THE ABSCISION OF THE OLIVE AND FACILITATE ITS COLLECTION THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF CARBOXY-2-PHENYL-5,5-TETRAMETILIMIDAZOLINA-1-OXIL-3-OXIDE (cPTIO)
Procedure to promote the abscission of the olive and facilitate its collection by the application of carboxy-2-phenyl-5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide (cPTIO). # The present invention relates to a method to promote the abscission of the olive, especially, to facilitate its collection by applying cPTIO in the form of foliar spray before the olive harvest. The treatment of the olive trees with cPTIO reduces the retention force of the olive to the tree and thus, facilitates that these can be economically collected with little manual or mechanical help within the appropriate time of harvesting and this, without causing olive tree defoliation .Procedimiento para fomentar la abscisión de la aceituna y facilitar su recolección mediante la aplicación de carboxy-2-fenil-5,5-tetrametilimidazolina-1-oxil-3-óxido (cPTIO).#La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para fomentar la abscisión de la aceituna, en especial, para facilitar su recolección mediante la aplicación de cPTIO en forma de pulverización foliar antes de la recolección de la aceituna. El tratamiento de los olivos con cPTIO reduce la fuerza de retención de la aceituna al árbol y de este modo, facilita que éstas puedan recolectarse económicamente con escaso auxilio manual o mecánico dentro de la época adecuada de recogida y ello, sin ocasionar desfoliación de los olivos.
