The endoscope (1) has a tube and a covering glass (7) arranged at distal end (5) of the tube. An imaging optics (6) is arranged at the tube. The image optics is forms an object as an image, where the object is located before the covering glass. The covering glass has a spherically curved concave inner side, a spherically curved, convex outer surface and a constant thickness.
