Provided are 5-[(hydroxymethyl)aryl]-substituted pyrrolo[2,1-f][1,2,4] triazin-4-amines of the general formula (I), where the variables are as defined in the specification. Examples of the compounds include [4-(4-Amino-7-propylpyrrolo[2,1-f] [1,2,4]triazin-5-yl)phenyl]methanol and rac-1-{ 4-Amino-5-[3,5-difluoro-4-(hydroxymethyl)phenyl]pyrrolo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazin-7-yl} ethanol. The compounds are activin receptor-like kinase 1 (ALK1) inhibitors. The compounds may be useful in the treatment of angiogenesis-related disorders in particular, angiogenesis-related ocular disorders such as age-related macular degeneration.
