Provided are skin care compositions comprising (A) a particle comprising (i) a UV absorber having a λmax in a range from 280 to 400 nm, and (ii) a copolymer comprising polymerized units derived from (a) 40 to 90 weight % of water-insoluble monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, (b) 10 to 60 weight % of water-soluble monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, and (c) 0.1 to less than 10 weight % of cross-linkers, and (B) a dermatologically acceptable carrier, wherein the weight ratio of ultraviolet absorber to copolymer is more than 1:2. Also provided are methods of protecting skin from UV damage comprising topically administering such compositions to the skin.Linvention concerne des compositions de soin de la peau comprenant (A) une particule comprenant (i) un absorbeur dUV ayant un λmax dans la plage allant de 280 à 400 nm, et (ii) un copolymère comprenant des motifs polymérisés dérivés de (a) 40 à 90 % en poids de monomères à insaturation monoéthylénique insolubles dans leau, (b) 10 à 60 % en poids de monomères à insaturation monoéthylénique solubles dans leau, et (c) 0,1 à moins de 10 % en poids dagents de réticulation, et (B) un support dermatologiquement acceptable, le rapport en poids entre labsorbeur dultraviolets et le copolymère étant supérieur à 1/2.
