The invention provides an electronic endoscope system in which an endoscope control section (21) of an electronic endoscope (2) generates a power requesting signal indicating an amount of power to be supplied to the electronic endoscope (2) in accordance with an operating state of an in-scope electric circuit (22) and transmits the power requesting signal to a video processor (1), and a power supply control section (11) of the video processor (1) causes a power variable section (12) and a variable regulator (13) to output power with the amount of power indicated by the received power requesting signal to the electronic endoscope (2).
