PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively using an anti-HIV agent TMC278 which is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) currently under clinical development.SOLUTION: In the use of a parenteral formulation including an effective amount of TMC278 or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid-addition salt thereof, and a carrier: TMC278, that is 4-[[4-[[4-(2-cyanoethenyl)-2,6-dimethylphenyl]amino]-2-pyrimidinyl]amino]benzonitrile is administered intermittently at a time interval of at least one week. Preferably, an effective amount of TMC278 in the parenteral formulation is selected so that its blood plasma level is kept for a long period at a level between a maximum blood plasma level, at which significant side effects are induced, and a minimum blood plasma level which is the lowest blood plasma level for effective prevention of HIV infection with an HIV inhibitor. Preferably, the formulation is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly.【課題】現在臨床開発中の非ヌクレオシド逆転写酵素インヒビター（ＮＮＲＴＩ）であるＨＩＶ用医薬ＴＭＣ２７８の有効な使用方法の提供。【解決手段】ＴＭＣ２７８、即ち、４－［［４－［［４－（２－シアノエテニル）－２，６－ジメチルフェニル］アミノ］－２－ピリミジニル］－アミノ］ベンゾニトリルの投与について、少なくとも１週間の時間間隔で間欠的に投与される、有効量のＴＭＣ２７８又は製薬学的に許容できるその酸付加塩及び担体を含んでなる非経口調合物の使用。該ＴＭＣ２７８の血漿濃度は、有意の副作用を誘発する血漿レベルである最大血漿レベルと、ＨＩＶインヒビターがＨＩＶ感染の有効な予防を提供する最低の血漿レベルである最少血漿レベルの間を含んでなるレベルで、長時間にわたり維持されるように非経口調合物中のＴＭＣ２７８の有効量が選択されることが好ましい。該調合物は、皮下又は筋肉内に投与されることが好ましい。【選択図】なし
