PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which can sufficiently avoid a situation wherein absorption of urine is too late causing the urine to leak out the absorbent article even when the SAP (Super Absorvent Polymer) ratio in the absorbent article is increased.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1A includes an absorbent body 22, a top sheet 18, a back sheet 20, and a second sheet 50A comprising a liquid permeable material and disposed between the absorbent body 22 and the top sheet 18. The second sheet 50A has a plurality of concave grooves 52A, 54A and a plurality of convex shapes alternately formed on both the front face side and the back face side. The second sheet 50A is disposed between layers of the absorbent body 22 and the top sheet 18 so that the plurality of concave grooves 52A, 54A and the plurality of convex shapes 56A an 58A are oriented in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article. The top parts of the convex shapes 56A formed to the front face side of the second sheet 50A are joined to the backside of the top sheet 18 to unite the second sheet 50A and the top sheet 18.
