PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting structure of poles allowing work of cutting high branches to be efficiently performed, by maintaining a function of reliably locking a second pole at a predetermined insertion position with respect to a first pole for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The connecting structure 14 of poles connects a first pole 16 and a second pole 17 with each other by locking the second pole 17 at a predetermined insertion position with respect to the first pole 16 while the second pole 17 is inserted into the first pole 16. The structure includes: a first engaging projection 26 provided as movable forward or backward between a protruding position where the projection protrudes outside the second pole 17 and a pressed position where the projection is pressed into inside the first pole 16; a first energizing means 28 that energizes the first engaging projection 26 from the pressed position to the protruding position; and holder 29 fixed inside the second pole 17 and attached thereto and provided with the first energizing means 28.
