The pill feeder accepts a large amount of pills, arranges these pills in a single row, and each pill is controlled in this feeder and output at a controlled flow rate. The device has a movable surface, such as a rotating disk, that receives the pill and passes it through one or more gates, which gate the pills away from each other and direct in a row. The gate starts from a closed position and can be opened until the pill passes the gate. In one embodiment, the mixer rotates in the opposite direction to the rotating disk to prevent pill congestion. The single pill row is then delivered to the exit chute via the exit path. The alternative exit path provides an alternative route for the pill to send from the pill feeder. Multiple sensors can control the operation of the gate and the flow rate that the pill delivers from the pill feeder.
