PURPOSE: An lbLEA14 gene originated from sweet potato and a lignin biosynthesis increase method of plants using the same are provided to develop transgenic plants having environmental stress resistance which is suitable for condition disadvantage regions through changing the lignin content. CONSTITUTION: A lignin biosynthesis increase method of plants includes a step of over-expressing the IbLEA14 gene by transforming the recombinant vector which includes the lbLEA(Late embryogenesis abundant)14 gene into the plant cells. The IbLEA14 gene is composed of the base sequence described in the sequence number 1(SEQ ID NO:1). A manufacturing method of the transgenic plant with an increased lignin biosynthesis comprises the following steps: transforming the plant cells by using the recombinant vector which includes the IbLEA14 gene originated from sweet potato; and re-differentiating the plants from the transformed plant cells.
