A lubrication apparatus for lubrication of joints of a human or mammalian patient which is fully implantable in a patient body, comprising a container for storing a lubricant and a fluid connection for introducing the lubricant into the joint when the device is implanted in a patient. In addition, the fluid connection includes a fluid connection device connecting the container to the joint, so that the flow of lubricant from the container into the joint is established.
