PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect catching device capable of efficiently catching insects while a person is absent. An insect catching device detects an insect catching means, an insect attracting means for attracting insects, a control means for controlling the insect attracting strength of the insect attracting means, and whether or not a person exists in a predetermined space. When the person detecting means does not detect a person, the control means increases the insect attraction intensity as compared with the case where the person detecting means detects a person.
