One aspect of the disclosed invention provides an x-ray imaging device which traces the position of an interested object by using a Kalman filter and calculates covariance showing the accuracy of the trace and controls a collimator so that the position of the calculated interested object and the covariance are interconnected with the position and area which are irradiated with an x-ray and a control method thereof. The x-ray imaging device according to one side of the disclosed invention comprises: an x-ray source； a collimator which controls an irradiation area of an x-ray irradiated from the x-ray source； and a processor which determines an interest area in an x-ray area and traces the position of an interested object in the interest area and controls the collimator so that an area which is irradiated with the x-ray is interconnected with a tracing result of the interest area.개시된 발명의 일 측면은 칼만필터를 이용하여 관심객체의 위치를 추적하고 추적의 정확도를 나타내는 공분산을 산출하여, 산출된 관심객체의 위치와 공분산이 엑스선이 조사되는 영역의 위치 및 면적과 연동되도록 콜리메이터를 제어하는 엑스선 영상장치 및 그 제어방법을 제공한다. 개시된 발명의 일 측면에 따른 엑스선 영상장치는 엑스선 소스, 상기 엑스선 소스에서 조사되는 엑스선의 조사영역을 조절하는 콜리메이터 및 엑스선 영상에서 관심영역을 결정하고, 상기 관심영역에서 관심객체의 위치를 추적하여 엑스선이 조사되는 영역이 상기 관심객체의 추적결과에 연동되도록 상기 콜리메이터를 제어하는 프로세서；를 포함한다.
