A method of accelerating the growth of algae using an absorbing liquid that contains carbon dioxide, the method includes the steps of: (1) bringing into contact a gas containing carbon dioxide with an absorbing liquid, (2) allowing the absorbing liquid to absorb carbon dioxide from the gas, ( 3) contacting the absorbing liquid containing the absorbed carbon dioxide with the algae culture, (4) allowing the algae culture to convert carbon dioxide from the absorbing liquid, thereby regenerating absorbing liquid and accelerating the growth of algae in the specified culture of algae. 2.
