In addition, compositions and methods for the treatment of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP), an orphan disease, are described. Compositions and methods for the treatment of stage 1 melanoma are also described. The compositions comprise one or more active ingredients selected from the group consisting of: chloroquine, amodiaquine, and an antibiotic such as metronidazole. The methods comprise administering a therapeutically effective amount of such compositions to a subject in need thereof.
