The fastener cartridge may comprise a collapsible and cartridge body, and a fastener that is embedded in a collapsible cartridge body that may be used to fasten tissue. In use, the fastener cartridge is sometimes disposed in the first jaw of the surgical fastening apparatus, the first jaw may be located on the opposite side of the anvil or second jaw. Anvil can engage the fastener cartridge and expand or otherwise deform or fasteners to crush the cartridge body is housed inside.
