In some embodiments, the device includes a catheter having a catheter body, a light emitting element disposed at a distal end of the catheter body, and a fluid conduit connectable to a fluid source. The fluid conduit is configured to expel fluid from the fluid source through the conduit and out the distal end of the catheter body. A spacing member is disposed on the distal end of the catheter body and can be moved between the collapsed and expanded configurations. In the expanded shape, the spacing member is arranged around the light emitting element. The spacing member at least partially transmits and/or semi-transmits the light emitted from the light emitting element.
