A medical image processing device is provided with: an image input unit for inputting a medical image taken by a medical treatment device； a plurality of filters that correspond to the size of the density change in a mucosal surface structure to be extracted, and to the direction of travel of the mucosal surface structure, for a local region made of a plurality of pixels that include pixels of interest from a medical image； a filtering unit for performing a calculation to select a feature corresponding to the mucosal surface structure using the plurality of filters； a feature selection unit for selecting a feature of the mucosal surface structure from the filter output； and a determination unit for determining whether or not the selected feature contains a feature of the mucosal surface structure.
