The present invention shall disclose a process of extraction of antimicrobial activity exhibiting novel pure peptide antibiotics Pleurocidin like peptide PLP from epidermis of the Clarias batrachus. The process comprises of scratching epidermis from anaesthetized Clarias batrachus and homogenized with tris buffer followed by centrifugation under predetermined reaction condition to obtain a supernatant and residue. The supernatant was then subjected into Reverse Phase column chromatography to obtain plurality of active fractions. The plurality of active fractions were subjected to screening inhibition activity of growth of multidrug resistant Klebsiella pneumonia strains where fraction 27 exhibits maximum inhibition activity of growth of multidrug resistant Klebsiella pneumonia strains. Fraction 27 was e pooled and lyophilized to obtain dry powder. Finally subjecting the fraction 27 to lyophilization to obtain dry powder of novel pure peptide antibiotics Pleurocidin like peptide.
