Microstructure arrays and methods for manufacturing microstructure arrays (10). The microstructure apparatus comprising: a backing (18) having a first surface (20) and a second surface (22) opposed thereto； a microstructure array comprising a plurality of microstructures (12) extending outwardly from the first surface of the backing； the microstructures comprising a biodegradable distal layer (14) and at least one proximal layer (16) positioned between the distal layer and the first surface of the backing； the distal layer comprised of at least one therapeutic agent and at least one polymer； and wherein at least a portion of the distal layer detaches readily upon insertion of the array into skin.Arreglos de microestructura y métodos para la fabricación de arreglos de microestructura (10).
