An array emitter comprising a plurality of emitters may be used to individually emit selected energy, such as x-ray radiation from the emitter array, rather than actuating or emitting radiation from all parts of the emitter array. Thus, provision of a plurality of cells of the emission array, and selective emission of x-rays from individual cells, may allow selection of which cells emit x-rays to obtain the selected image data.
