This invention is intended to further improve the effects of alleviating hangover symptoms with the use of a composition comprising a turmeric extract. In particular, this invention is intended to provide a composition that alleviates specific hangover symptoms, such as heartburn and dull headache. The present inventors found that a composition comprising a turmeric (Curcuma longa) extract and a zedoary (Curcuma zedoaria) extract is capable of effectively suppressing heartburn and dull headache among hangover symptoms. The effects attained with the use of the composition of the present invention are remarkable for a person with low aldehyde dehydrogenase activity.本發明之目的在於進一步提高藉由含有薑黃萃取物之組合物而緩解宿醉症狀之效果。本發明之目的尤其在於提供一種緩解「胃灼熱」、「頭重感」等宿醉之特定症狀之組合物。本發明者發現，含有薑黃(Curcuma longa)萃取物與片薑黃(Curcuma zedoaria)萃取物之組合物可有效地抑制宿醉症狀中之尤其是「胃灼熱」及「頭重感」。本發明之組合物之該效果於乙醛脫氫酶活性較低之人身上明顯地表現出來。
