PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant whose dormant period is shortened, the plant whose dormant period is shortened and whose germination time is equalized, and to provide a method for creating such the plant. SOLUTION: This method for creating the plant whose dormant period is shortened comprises increasing a 2-OG content in the cells in the plant, especially excessively expressing GDH (glutamate dehydrogenase) gene in the cells of the plant to increase the 2-OG (2-oxoglutaric acid) content in the cell. More concretely, the method for creating the plant whose dormant period is shortened comprises transducing a nucleic acid structure capable of reinforcing the expression of the GDH gene, especially a nucleic acid structure capable of expressing the GDH gene, into the plant to excessively express the GDH gene, thereby increasing the 2-OG content in the cells.
