<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for cooling by which only a part most need to be cooled of a cultivated plant can be effectively cooled. <；P>；SOLUTION: The apparatus for cooling a local area of a cultivated plant includes a mist nozzle 5 discharging mist to the local part of the cultivated plant 3, and a control device 7 controlling the discharge of the mist.
