The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for diagnosing lesions, and more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for diagnosing lesions capable of precisely diagnosing lesions such as breast cancer by digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT). The present invention comprises: an X-ray irradiation portion for generating X-rays to irradiate a diagnosis subject a diagnosis subject positioning portion spaced from the X-ray irradiation portion, in which the diagnosis subject is positioned a diagnosis subject image generation portion for generating a two-dimensional first diagnosis subject image with respect to the diagnosis subject from the X-rays passing through the diagnosis subject, coupled to the lower portion of the diagnosis subject positioning portion and a lesion determination portion for combining the first diagnosis subject image to generate a three-dimensional second diagnosis subject image with respect to the diagnosis subject and determining the presence or absence of lesions in the diagnosis subject using second diagnosis subject image, wherein the X-ray irradiation portion intermittently or continuously rotates by a preset angle range and irradiates X-rays to the diagnosis subject only if stopped during intermittent rotation, and the diagnosis subject image generation portion generates the projected image with respect to the diagnosis subject which is generated in a plurality of locations by the X-rays passing through the diagnosis subject by said rotation, as the first diagnosis subject image. The present invention enables the improvement of lesion diagnosis accuracy and early diagnosis rates.
