The system comprises an aerosolizing chamber for mixing inhalation gases and aerosolized medicament； a first inlet port formed in the chamber and coupled to a nebulizer, wherein the nebulizer provides the aerosolized medicament to the chamber through the first inlet port. A second inlet port is also formed in the chamber and coupled to an inhalation gas source, wherein the inhalation gas source provides the inhalation gases to the chamber through the second inlet port. An outlet port formed in the chamber to provide the mixture of inhalation gases and aerosolized medicament to a respiratory system of a patient, wherein the outlet port comprises a one-way or non-return disc valve that is slidable within the outlet port to prevent exhalation fluids from the patient from entering the aerosolizing chamber, and wherein the outlet port is coupled to a patient respiratory interface. The inhalation gas source comprises a ventilator, a pump, or a compressed gas source.
