A method for sterilizing packaging material (10) comprising a transmitter (20) which is adapted to emit charge carriers, in particular electrons, wherein the charge carriers form at least a cloud (22), and the the emitter (20) and the packaging material (10) move relative to each other so that a flow (42) of gaseous medium is established between the transmitter (20) and the packaging material (10) comprising the steps of: - controlling a motion profile (90 ', 90' ') between the transmitter (20) and the packaging material (10); - sterilize at least by a cloud, the flow (42) of the gaseous medium between the transmitter (20) and the packaging material (10) adjusting the motion profile (90 ', 90' '), in which the material packaging (10) essentially has the shape of tube, and wherein the transmitter is adapted for sterilization at least the inside of the packaging material (10) into a tube through an opening (12) of packaging material tubelike - perform a mutual relative movement between the transmitter (20) and the packaging material (10) as tube, during which movement part of the emitter (10) is temporarily inserted through the opening (12) packaging material (10) into a tube, so that takes place inside sterilization of the packaging material (10), in which insert the emitter (20) in the packaging material (10) as tube creates basically an outflow (44) of the medium outside of the packaging material (10) essentially in the form of tube through the opening (12), and wherein pulling the emitter (20) out of packaging material (10) basically tubular basically creates an inflow (43) of the medium into the packaging material (10) basically tubular, - adapting a flow rate input and a flow rate output means using the motion profile (90 ', 90' '), wherein the motion profile (90' , 90 '') comprises at least a first position, wherein in the first position transmitter (20), in particular window (24) electron exit, and the opening (12) of the packaging material (10) basically shap
