To provide skin condition improving agents capable of preventing dryness by daily ingestion, and to provide skin condition improving agents, medicines, food and drinks containing as an active ingredient a lactic acid bacterium of Lactobacillus genus Gasseri species derived from the intestinal tract of infants having high hyaluronic acid production promoting ability and its fermented product.SOLUTION: The present inventors focused on the fact that hyaluronic acid synthesis is essential for moisturizing the skin, screened a large number of lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria, and as a result, found out that the lactic acid bacteria of Lactobacillus gasseri species derived from the intestinal tract of infants, in particular, Lactobacillus gasseri N320 strain (NITE BP-02287) has high hyaluronic acid production promoting ability and is effective in improving the skin condition, which resulted in the completion of the present invention.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3【課題】本発明は、日常的に摂取して乾燥を防ぐことが可能な皮膚状態改善剤を提供することを課題とする。本発明は、高いヒアルロン酸産生促進能力を有する乳児腸内由来のラクトバチルス属ガセリ種の乳酸菌及びその発酵物を有効成分として含有する皮膚状態改善剤、医薬品、および飲食品を提供する。【解決手段】本発明者らは、皮膚の保湿にはヒアルロン酸合成が必要不可欠である点に着目し、多数の乳酸菌、ビフィズス菌についてスクリーニングを行った結果、乳児腸内由来のラクトバチルス属ガセリ種の乳酸菌、特にラクトバチルス・ガセリN320株（NITE BP-02287）には高いヒアルロン酸産生促進能力があり、かつ皮膚状態の改善に有効であることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。【選択図】図３
