4D MDCT images for a treatment plan, a method and apparatus for tracking tumor movement in a radiation therapy using image matching between 4D CBCT images during treatment and tumor matching according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) generating a tumor movement model for each phase image from a four-dimensional (4D) multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) image for a treatment plan (b) performing image matching between the 4D MDCT image and a 4-dimensional Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) image acquired during the treatment so as to Compensate movement of the lung between the tumor movement model and the 4D CBCT image acquired during the treatment by correcting the tumor movement model and the 4D MDCT image, thereby predicting global movement of a tumor present in the lung (c) performing template matching between each phase image of the corrected 4D MDCT image and a corresponding phase image of the 4D CBCT image so as to determine the location and region of the tumor in the 4D CBCT image, thereby predicting a regional movement of the tumor. According to the present invention, it is possible to track the actual movement of the tumor effectively and accurately.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017본 발명의 일 실시예에 의한 치료계획용 4D MDCT 영상과 치료시 획득한 4D CBCT 영상 간 영상 정합 및 종양 매칭을 이용한 방사선 치료시 종양 움직임 추적 방법은, (a) 치료계획용 4차원(4D) MDCT(Multi-Detector Computed Tomography) 영상으로부터 각 위상영상에 대한 종양 움직임 모델을 생성하는 단계 (b) 상기 4D MDCT 영상과 치료시 획득한 4차원 콘빔 컴퓨터 단층촬영(CBCT: Cone Beam Computed Tomography) 영상 간 영상 정합을 수행하여 상기 종양 움직임 모델과 상기 4D MDCT 영상을 보정함으로써 상기 종양 움직임 모델과 상기 치료시 획득한 4D CBCT 영상 간의 폐의 움직임을 보상하여 상기 폐에 존재하는 종양의 전역적 움직임을 예측하는 단계 및 (c) 상기 보정된 4D MDCT 영상의 각 위상영상과 상기 4D CBCT 영상의 대응하는 위상영상 간 템플릿 매칭을 수행하여 상기 4D CBCT 영상에서의 종양의 위치와 영역을 결정함으로써 상기 종양의 지역적 움직임을 예측하는 단계를 포함하여, 실제 종양의 움직임을 효과적으로 정확하게 추적할 수 있다.
