A resonant trap comprises a hollow cylindrical body its interior forming an axial channel. An inner conductor is provided on the hollow cylindrical bodys inner wall and an outer conductor is provided on the hollow cylindrical bodys outer wall. A carrier in the form of a resilient ring or an axial plate is attached to the inner wall of the axial channel and a tuning capacitor mounted to the carrier.
