摘要:
The present invention relates to a biosignal-based pain level classification apparatus and method for classifying a pain level by using electrocardiogram (ECG) and photoplethysmograph (PPG) measurement devices and, more specifically, to a biosignal-based pain level classification apparatus and method for extracting, from an ECG or PPG signal, energy and a zero-crossing rate, which are main features of the ECG or PPG signal, according to a decrease in blood flow rate and frequent pulse when the sympathetic nervous system is excited due to a pain stimulus and normalizing the extracted energy and zero-crossing rate, and displaying a pain level index through a Sigmoid function from a value calculated by weighting the normalized energy and zero-crossing rate, thereby enabling simple and highly accurate pain level classification. The present invention relates to a biosignal-based pain level classification apparatus in which a pulse wave (PPG) or ECG signal detected from a PPG sensor unit or an ECG sensor unit is converted into a digital signal through an A/D conversion unit so as to be transmitted to a computation processing unit, which detects a pain level index from the received PPG or ECG signal, wherein the computation processing unit detects energy and a zero-crossing rate from the PPG or ECG signal and normalizes same, obtains a Sigmoid function of the energy and a Sigmoid function of the zero-crossing rate, and adds a value obtained by multiplying the Sigmoid function of the energy by a preset energy weight and a value obtained by multiplying the Sigmoid function of the zero-crossing rate by a preset zero-crossing rate weight, thereby outputting the addition result as the pain level index.
