PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal olefin sulfonate composition which is capable of exerting good foamability, good volume of foam, rapidly foaming properties, foam cutting properties, foam quality, retentivity of foam in the presence of sebum, and volume of foam in the presence of sebum at high levels, and to provide a detergent composition containing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided an internal olefin sulfonate composition which comprises (A) an internal olefin sulfonate having 16 carbon atoms and (B) an internal olefin sulfonate having 18 carbon atoms.
