PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable agricultural material, from a distillation residue of shochu, a Japanese spirit, without much investing in plant and equipment as a substitute for an agricultural mulch sheet and the like having a problem of recycle and disposal after use, and to provide applications of compost produced in the livestock industry and an effective application of waste paper. SOLUTION: The biodegradable agricultural material comprises distillation residue of the shochu, the waste paper and the compost and obtained by adding the waste paper and the compost to the distillation residue of the shouchu, uniformly mixing the tripartite and making a sheet from the resultant mixture with a paper machine to obtain the biodegradable agricultural mulch sheet or molding the mixture into a raising pot and the like, and a method for producing the material is provided.
