PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of tracking in analyzing actions of laboratory animals and the like.SOLUTION: An action recognizing apparatus 20 that automatically recognizes actions of a moving body 12 from images of multiple frames of images of a moving body 12 shot by a shooting unit 11 is equipped with: overall gravity center identifying means 44 that identifies the overall gravity center, which is the gravity center of a moving body area matching the moving body 12 in the images； area dividing means 45 that divides the moving body area into a plurality of areas by using a mechanical learning algorithm； and end point identifying means 46 that identifies as the end point of the moving body the farthest point from the overall gravity center in a prescribed area out of the plurality of areas into which division was made by the area dividing means 45.【課題】実験動物等の行動解析において、トラッキング精度を向上させる。【解決手段】動体１２の動作を、撮像部１１により撮像された動体１２の複数フレームの画像から自動的に認識する動作認識装置２０において、前記画像中で動体１２に対応する動体領域の重心である全体重心を特定する全体重心特定手段４４と、前記動体領域を機械学習アルゴリズムを用いて複数の領域に分割する領域分割手段４５と、領域分割手段４５が分割した複数の領域のうち所定領域において、前記全体重心から最も遠い点を前記動体の端点と特定する端点特定手段４６とを備える。【選択図】図１
