Provided are an ultrasonic imaging device and a method for controlling the same, capable of allowing a user to replace a probe by recommending the proper probe for a diagnosis organ of a patient, thereby diagnosing the patient efficiently and accurately. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the ultrasonic imaging device comprises a first ultrasonic probe, a second ultrasonic probe, a display unit, and a control unit. The first ultrasonic probe obtains an ultrasonic image of an object by transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic signal. The second ultrasonic probe is formed of an ultrasonic probe which is different from the first ultrasonic probe. The display unit displays the ultrasonic image obtained by at least one of the first ultrasonic probe and the second ultrasonic probe. The control unit provides guide to deduct information of the object based on the ultrasonic image obtained by the first ultrasonic probe and replace the first ultrasonic probe with the second ultrasonic probe based on the information of the object.개시된 발명의 일 측면은 환자의 진단 기관에 적합한 프로브를 추천하여 사용자가 프로브를 교체함으로써 효율적이고 정확하게 환자를 진단 할 수 있는 초음파 영상장치 및 그 제어방법을 제공한다. 일 실시예에 따른 초음파 영상 장치는 초음파 신호를 송수신하여 대상체의 초음파 영상을 획득하는 제1초음파 프로브 상기 제1초음파 프로브와 다른 종류의 초음파 프로브로 구비되는 제2초음파 프로브 상기 제1초음파 프로브 및 상기 제2초음파 프로브 중 적어도 하나가 획득한 초음파 영상을 표시하는 표시부 및 상기 제1초음파 프로브가 획득한 초음파 영상을 기초로 대상체의 정보를 도출하고, 상기 대상체의 정보에 기초하여 상기 제1초음파 프로브를 상기 제2초음파 프로브로 교체하도록 가이드 하는 제어부를 포함한다.
